Rev. Jennifer McCurry, Pastor Grant and 412-781-2764 MINISTRIES The congregation at Emmanuel is deeply committed to ministry; locally and globally. Our church building is used by many community organizations such as The Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Brownies. Gamblers Anonymous, Domestic Outreach, and Etna Team for Neighborhood Assistance. Our congregation is active in the Etna Community Food Bank Drive, provides Christmas gifts to children at Glade Run Lutheran Services and supports numerous community fund raising projects for those in need, including domestic and world hunger. Following the flooding in Pittsburgh in 2004 with Hurricane Ivan, Emmanuel became a central relief point for helping the people of Etna and surrounding areas get back into their homes. We served many thousands of meals to hundreds and hundreds of residents and relief workers for three weeks following the flooding. For nearly two years following, we were the headquarters for the ETNA Team (Etna Team for Neighborhood Assistance) to help the people with long range recovery efforts and coordinate relief work. Our members have taken part in work trips to the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina, helping people in Ohio after the flooding there in 2007, and Habitat for Humanity as well as other local help projects. For over 109 years, Emmanuel has been an active witness of the love of Christ in word and deed to our community, country and world, following our Lord's command to love one another as he has loved us.
